Help & Questions

Everything you might want to know before (or after) ordering. Can't find your answer? Email malini@artofbirdie.com. You'll always get a human, never a bot.

The prints

What are the prints made of? Each print is produced in Glasgow on 300gsm recycled fine-art paper] using plant-based / giclée inks — made to be looked at for years, not months. Fade-resistant under glass for 10+ years.

What sizes do you offer? [A6 (10.5 × 14.8 cm) · A5 (14.8 × 21 cm) · A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) — list your actual sizes.] All standard sizes, so they'll slot into off-the-shelf frames from anywhere, no custom framing bills.

Do prints come framed? Not currently. Prints ship [flat, board-backed / in a sturdy tube] so you can choose a frame that suits your space. A standard A4 frame from any high-street shop fits perfectly.

Will the colours match what I see on my screen? Very closely — but every screen displays colour a little differently, so tiny variations between your screen and the physical print are normal and not a fault. (If anything arrives genuinely wrong or damaged, that's a different story, see Returns below.)

Are the prints signed? Yes! every print is signed on the back. / Limited editions are signed and numbered.

My print arrived damaged or wrong. We'll fix it fast. Email a photo of the item and packaging within 14 days and choose a free replacement or a full refund — no need to post anything back.

Prana Mail Club

What is Prana Mail? A monthly art date for your inner world. Prana means breath  and each month, members receive a new A6 print (never sold in the shop), a custom sticker, a dopamine menu, and a gentle reflective art-date prompt, posted through your letterbox. £8.99/month, cancel anytime.

When am I billed, and when does my parcel arrive? You're billed on the 1st of each month; parcels post by the 7th and fit through a standard letterbox. No missed-delivery cards, ever. Join mid-month and your first parcel arrives the following month.

Is shipping included in the £8.99? [UK — yes, included. US & Canada — +£2/month, shown at checkout.

Can I cancel or skip a month? Cancel anytime from your account or by email — no fees, no guilt, no "are you sure?" maze. Your subscription simply stops before the next billing date.

What's a founding member? The first round of Prana Mail is capped at 50 members, because every parcel is packed by hand by one person. Founding members get perk and their £8.99 price locked in for as long as they stay subscribed — even if the price rises later.

Can I gift a subscription? Yes — choose the gift option at checkout. / Gifting launches with the club — join the waitlist to hear first.

Is it therapy? No, it's art. Prana Mail draws on psychotherapeutic principles I'm training in, but it's a creative companion, not a substitute for professional mental-health support. (It plays nicely alongside it, though.)

Values & giving back

What does "Giving Back" mean? Every print in our Giving Back collection donates everything to a named charity/cause. We publish what we've raised together each season in the newsletter.

Is your packaging sustainable? Yes! plastic-free, recycled and recyclable materials; your specifics. How a thing is made matters too.

Who's behind Art of Birdie? One person (so far!): Malini, artist, storyteller, Glaswegian by choice. Art of Birdie is an independent, queer, PoC-owned studio.
