Slow art for a burning world

Hi, I'm Malini. Artist, storyteller, and the hands behind Art of Birdie Studio.

I make art about the things that matter most to me: mental health, migration and belonging, justice, Scotland, and the quiet, stubborn work of care. Some pieces celebrate Glasgow, the city I've made home. Some raise money for causes close to my heart. All of them are made slowly, by hand, because how a thing is made matters too.

How it's made

Every print is produced with care in Glasgow. Printed on recycled/FSC-certified paper with plant-based inks, packaged in plastic-free/recyclable materials, and posted with a wee note from me. No warehouse, no mass production. When you order, a real person (me!) wraps your print at a kitchen table in Govan.

What your money does

Art of Birdie is an independent, queer, PoC-owned studio. When you buy a print, you're not feeding an algorithm or a shareholder, you're keeping one artist making the work she believes in.

And some of it goes further: every print in our Giving Back collection donates all proceeds to either a named charity or a a cause. So far, together we've raised £3275 for [the affected businesses of the Union Street Fire in Glasgow.

Prana Mail — a monthly art date for your inner world

Prana means breath. Once a month, Prana Mail members receive a new A6 print, a custom sticker, a dopamine menu, and a gentle art-date prompt. Small, beautiful things to help you pause, feel, and notice, in a world that rarely lets you. It's informed by the psychotherapeutic principles I'm currently training in: tender, anti-oppressive, and made for the feelings that don't always have names.

Come say hi
